Bluff County Master Gardeners

Master Gardener Program Details

How to Get Certified

Master Gardener Volunteer training and certification is managed by UW-Madison Division of Extension. The statewide program and all training and certification requirements are managed at the state level. The Level 1 Training, which initially trains and certifies Master Gardener Volunteers, is managed and conducted locally. The Division of Extension La Crosse County is responsible for all training.   Please contact their office at 608-785-9593 or click the links below for more information on how you can become a Master Gardener Volunteer.

How to Stay Certified

Opportunities for volunteering and education, which are required of Master Gardeners to keep their certification, are provided and promoted by Bluff Country Master Gardener Association.  We provide training and enrichment at our monthly meetings. We have many volunteer opportunities, plus several large projects we support and manage, that provide opportunities for our members to volunteer.

At this time, a Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) is required to volunteer for 24 hours of service and take at least 10 hours of training per calendar year.
